Toddler Program
Toddler Program (2-3 Years)
Independence & Exploration
Our Toddler Program encourages independence, curiosity, and social development through play-based learning. At this stage, children are developing their language, motor skills, and emotional regulation, so our program provides structured yet flexible opportunities to support their growth.
- Emerging language skills: Storytelling, group discussions, and self-expression activities help toddlers expand their vocabulary.
- Social-emotional learning: Educators guide children in navigating friendships, turn-taking, and self-regulation.
- Active exploration: Outdoor play, nature-based learning, and hands-on experiences develop coordination and problem-solving skills.
- Self-help skills: Encouraging toileting, dressing, and independent feeding fosters confidence and autonomy.
Our educators use intentional teaching strategies to extend learning experiences, ensuring children develop a strong foundation for future learning while feeling supported in their individual journeys.

Toddler Learning Goals (2-3 Years)

Physical Development & Coordination
Toddlers are developing greater control over their movements and physical abilities. Through active play, climbing, running, and balance activities, they strengthen their coordination, fine and gross motor skills, and spatial awareness. Educators support their physical growth by encouraging safe risk-taking and movement exploration. (EYLF Outcome 3: Children have a strong sense of wellbeing.)

Growing Independence & Self-Help Skills
At this stage, toddlers begin to assert their independence by practicing self-help skills such as feeding themselves, washing hands, dressing, and packing away their belongings. These daily experiences build their confidence, resilience, and sense of responsibility. (EYLF Outcome 1: Children have a strong sense of identity.)

Language Development & Communication
Toddlers experience a rapid expansion of language skills, moving from simple words to forming short sentences. Educators engage them in conversations, storytelling, singing, and expressive play to encourage communication, listening, and understanding. They are also introduced to early literacy concepts through books and symbols. (EYLF Outcome 5: Children are effective communicators.)

Social & Emotional Growth

Problem Solving & Cognitive Development
Through hands-on experiences, sensory play, and open-ended exploration, toddlers begin to develop problem-solving skills and an understanding of cause and effect. They engage in activities that encourage curiosity, observation, and experimentation, helping them build foundational cognitive skills. (EYLF Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners.)

Creativity and Imaginative Play
Toddlers engage in role-play, storytelling, and artistic expression as they begin to use their imagination. Whether through dress-ups, pretend cooking, or creative art activities, they are supported in exploring ideas, expressing themselves, and building confidence in their creativity. (EYLF Outcome 4: Children develop creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills.)

Developing a Sense of Belonging
At this stage, toddlers begin to understand their place in the world, their relationships with others, and the routines that shape their daily experiences. Educators support their sense of belonging by creating a predictable, warm, and responsive environment where toddlers feel safe to explore and learn.
